CONS: RC has a arts practicum requirement, meaning either music or arts. If you are not particularly talented in those areas, like me, it might be hard to satisfy the requirement.

Students complete a minimum of four creative writing courses, at least three of which must be at the 300-level or above and at least three of which must be taken in the Residential College (RC). A usual track is an introductory course (Narration) and three upper-level courses.

All U-M LSA students are welcome to join the RC, take RC classes, or elect an RC major. The RC celebrates the best of the liberal arts within LSA. With 4 majors, 4 minors, 5 immersion languages, 4 visual arts studios, the Keene Theater and 8 unique community-engagement programs, the RC is truly unlike any other space on campus.

Every student admitted to the College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LS&A) is eligible to apply for admission to the Residential College (RC). RC students have all the academic options available at a major research university as well as advantages which only a small interdisciplinary college can offer.
