The Cirrus Aircraft T-53A is a small, single engine aircraft at the Academy that replaced the fleet of Diamond DA-40 T-52s in the spring of 2012. 2011年7月5日 · Cirrus Aircraft‘s SR20 aircraft has been selected as the aircraft of choice for the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Powered Flight Program. The Air Force Academy will receive 25 SR20 aircraft — designated as T-53A trainers in the customized configuration — starting this summer and continuing through 2012.

The United States Air Force Academy took on the SR20 as the "T-53A" to succeed a line of twenty Diamond DA40 lightweight aircraft used as flight trainers (detailed elsewhere on this site). Only the United States and France (Air Force and Navy) operate the SR20 at the military level.
