2023年5月26日 · MMIB changed their policy around 2020. I believe it’s still 30 or 45 for East/West Coast MEUs, but for UDP and 31st MEU it’s 8 days. Even then I’ve seen it shift in order to keep it left oft the FY. The reason for the extra days is tied to the GRF mission. They just can’t drop below a certain manpower level.

2019年5月8日 · Plus you can save a bunch of money for getting out. UDP’s are cool the first and second time. I would only say get out if you’re hell bent on getting out, college or a good job lined up. But the last two can wait. I went to Japan and Korea for my UDP and it was totally worth the experience. The food is bomb over there!

My first and only peacetime UDP was as a rifleman in 3/5 in 2002. We flew to Okinawa from Pendleton and got barracks aboard Camp Hansen. Felt kinda like being stationed back home, except we did stuff like a week long PATROLEX in the jungle and did a Jungle Warfare Training Center package.

2015年11月12日 · My Chronological record in MOL doesnt show that I went UDP at all. My sea service ribbon is in there but other than that I cant seem to find anything in MOL that shows I was there. Id like to get the MUC if I rate it but as of now it looks like the only proof I have of being in that squadron is a promotion warrant signed by that squadron's CO.

2024年3月7日 · I did 11 years between Reserves and AR. I got a lot I wanted out of my career, but I never got to do any type of deployment. I’m IRR with less than a year left, and I got offered to go on a UDP. I declined because I know my back can’t keep up with the basic demands of the Marine Corps anymore. That was the biggest reason I got out.
