USS Electra (AKA-4) was an Arcturus -class attack cargo ship named after Electra, a star in the Pleiades star cluster in the constellation Taurus. She served as a commissioned ship for seven years.

In October 1951 reacquired by the US Navy and recommissioned as USS Eectra (AKA 4) in May 1952 for service in the Korea War. In May 1955 decommissioned and again laid up as part of the reserve fleet of the US Maritime Commission in July 1960. Broken up in Japan in June 1974.

The USS Electra (AKA-4) was an Arcturus-class attack cargo ship launched on November 18, 1941, with the hull number AKA-4. It was commissioned on March 17, 1942, under Comdr. J. J. Hughes’ command and served in the US Navy for 4 years as an AK-21 until it was decommissioned for the first time on March 19, 1946.

Commissioned USS Scania (AKA-40), 16 April 1945, LCDR. Ben C. Gerwick, Jr., in command. Decommissioned, 2 September 1947, at San Francisco Anchorage # 26 and towed to the National Defense Fleet Anchorage at Suisun Bay CA.
