USS Biddle (DLG-34/CG-34) was a Belknap-class guided missile frigate/cruiser of the United States Navy. She saw action in Vietnam, where she is believed to be the last ship to down an enemy aircraft with hand-loaded guns.

Four ships of the United States Navy have been named USS Biddle, in honor of Captain Nicholas Biddle. USS Biddle (TB-26) was a torpedo boat in service from 1901 to 1919. USS Biddle (DD-151) was a destroyer commissioned 1918 and in use until 1945.

The USS BIDDLE (CG-34), a Belknap-class guided missile cruiser, was commissioned on 21 JAN 1967. Built at the Bath Iron works in Bath, Maine, USS BIDDLE spent a full year post commissioning on the East Coast fitting out and undergoing shakedown training.

Designed as a guided missile cruiser, the USS Biddle was specifically built to provide air defense for aircraft carriers and other valuable assets. Equipped with radar systems and surface to air missiles, it could engage threats simultaneously.
