Aug 7, 2020 · No UV resin is not needed. Technically I guess it would make a fly last a little longer but not really unless you encased the entire fly. It's good for building up streamer heads. It can be used for coating a shell back or putting a lump somewhere. It's greatest attribute is it can be dried hard with a flip of switch.

Apr 4, 2014 · I have peeled the UV-"hardened" material off glass and plastic to make eyes and wingcases. If your desk is well-lacquered (and certainly if it is occasionally waxed) the resin should peel off easily. If not, I would apply some desk-friendly oil and give it a chance to get under the resin before attempting removal.

Jun 16, 2015 · Not a replacement for 5 minute epoxy. Five min epoxy requires mixing of two separate chemicals, UV doesn't. It dries in a few seconds with a UV light whereas 5 min epoxy is thin and runs and isn't so immediate. The stuff stinks, so does epoxy but not as bad. And 5min epoxy doesn't allow you to build up a head or a body like UV does.
