The UWA Plant Growth Facility (PGF) provides a high-quality, functional and practical growing site for carrying out experiments under controlled conditions. Users are able control light quality, temperature, water, nutrients and soil composition while eliminating the variability found in nature.

In Plant Biology, you will study plants from molecular, cellular, and physiological perspectives and develop an understanding of the molecular characterisation of plant development and reproduction, as well as genetic, genomic and physiological studies that aim to elucidate how plants interact with their environments.

2025年2月7日 · This collaborative research between ecologists, statisticians, computer scientists and restoration practitioners will investigate why particular plant species and plant functions are absent from post-mining vegetation, using the ecological concepts of species pools, dark diversity, and community completeness.

From breakfast to dinner, from tiffin for kids in school to food for hike/work, from making Chyang (local beer) to alcohol, from casual food to food used for rituals and so on, Uwa, and its varieties, is extensively used in Dolpo.

Students in the Bachelor of Science (Botany) gain an in-depth understanding of plant form and function, plant diversity, ecology, and biogeochemistry. Plant Biology also teaches about the fascinating roles and importance of plants in several other BSc majors: Agricultural Science, Conservation Biology, Genetics, and Marine Science.

The Waters lab is based within the School of Molecular Sciences at the University of Western Australia. We are also closely affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology.
