The UIRR, short for "Union internationale pour le transport combiné Rail-Route" (or: International Union for Road-Rail combined transport) is a European organisation promoting intermodal transport. It was founded in 1970, and celebrated its 40th anniversary at a conference in Brussels.

Today the UIRR consists of 41 member companies in 17 European countries. Over 50% of rail freight tonne-kilometres can be attributed to Combined Transport by today. The UIRR is founded on 23 October 1970 in Munich. The choice of time and place was because the second international transport exhibition took place there that year.
