Had an opportunity to take a close look at the UP 6759, the wrecked unit that received the CN cab. CEECO has done a great job of splicing the cab for CN 2584 onto the frame & body of 6759. However, nearly all of the CN options have been deleted.

They hit the 34th car in the train the UP LVB59 had about 60 cars and was westbound headed to Winfield to deliver train to the SKOL. The eastbound train was and Mty red rock coal train with BNSF crews. One unit on the head end and two shoving in DPU mode. This train was headed to Topeka to hand off to the UP. Has anyone heard how the crew is doing?

It appears the cab has been repainted. Actually, it may have been replaced. Note that this unit now has upper mounted cab number boards and it features a modern GPS dome on top. I seriously doubt these items were factory applied back in 1996. Does anyone know the story behind 6759's nose job?
