3.2.5 UPEU The Universal Power and Environment Interface Unit (UPEU) is a mandatory board of the BBU3900. It converts -48 V or +24 V DC power to +12 V DC power.

UPEU boards perform the following functions: · A UPEUa/UPEUc/UPEUd converts -48 V DC input power into +12 V DC power. · A UPEUb converts +24 V DC input power into +12 V DC power. · A UPEU provides two ports with each transmitting one RS485 signal and two ports with each transmitting four Boolean signals.
