The engine is a 4.4 L (4,414 cc) aluminum DOHC V8 which produces 315 PS (232 kW; 311 hp) and 440 N⋅m (325 lb⋅ft). It has a 60 degree cylinder bank. The engine block and heads are cast from aluminium reducing its weight to a comparatively light 418 lb (190 kg).

2007年5月6日 · I've read an article about mounting a V8 in the S40. It was made as a project to test if it was possible by some engineers at volvo. Apparently they had to rearange the whole engine compartment to fit it, and move stuff like the battery to the rear of the car.
