2015年9月29日 · Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé MARK 3 (VAB Mk3), a new 6x6 medium wheeled armoured vehicle developed by Renault Trucks Defense, provides armed forces with high-level protection and multi-mission capabilities.

VAB MK 3 is a new family of 6x6 medium weight armoured vehicles offering very high level performance in terms of mobility, protection and payload.

It came either in 4x4 or 6x6 depending on versions. The 6x6 with its big wheels had an extra mobility guarantee in case of a mine blast. Top speed was about 90 kph to 110 kph on flat, 8 kph in water for a top operational range of about 1000 km to 1200 km thanks to 310 liters capacity.

Resulting from 40 years of experience through the VAB legacy, VAB MARK 3 is a median 6x6 armoured vehicle with outstanding performances in terms of mobility and carrying capacity. VAB MARK 3 offers a very high level of survivability to its crew with its ballistic protection, according to STANAG 4569.

Renault Trucks Defense is now upgrading a major part of the French Army VAB fleet to extend its operational life by another 15 years. Most export customers selected the 6x6 model of the VAB, which increases cross-country mobility.

The VAB’s maximum torque at low engine speed, (1,200Nm at 1,200rpm) enables the crossing of difficult obstacles such as gradients, steps and trenches. Maximum road speed is 110km/h and the vehicle has an acceleration 0m-1,000m in 54 seconds.
