2018年9月16日 · To specify the port just make sure it has "https://" in front of it; otherwise if you just use 1.2.3.4:1234 it doesn't work. In my case without the port specification I didn't need the "https://" and could just enter 1.2.3.4 - but when I needed to specify the port I had to format it like this: https://1.2.3.4:1234/

Ipsec needs UDP port 500 + ip protocol 50 and 51 - but you can use NAt-T instead, which needs UDP port 4500. On the other hand L2TP uses udp port 1701. If you trying to pass ipsec traffic through a "regular" Wi-Fi router and there is no such option as IPSec pass-through, I recommend opening port 500 and 4500. At least that is how it works on mine.

2023年8月1日 · @alex - also, The above article is misleading. VPN's are not "easy targets". VPN's with known vulnerabilities are easy targets - and in the case of commercial offerings like the ones in the article - they are also juicy ones - IE its a large (and if hacked, likely with an incompetent IT department) corporation which means the reward for hacking is likely greater.

From what I have found, it seems that port 1723 is the main port to forward, but I also see numerous references to others ports. The server that is hosting the VPN is a Windows 2008 Server. windows-server-2008

I need to check that an OpenVPN (UDP) server is up and accessible on a given host:port. I only have a plain Windows XP computer with no OpenVPN client (and no chance to install it) and no keys needed to connect to the server - just common WinXP command line tools, a browser and PuTTY are in my disposition.

2020年11月12日 · When installing OpenVPN, there are options to set the port to a different port than default: default is 1194. Is it safer to use a random port number (such as a port above 4000)? Because 1194 is the default, it might set off red flags when the port is seen to be accessed constantly by ISPs, and the ISPs might generate complaints?

2021年6月11日 · I have installed the PPTP VPN server on Windows 10 machine (incoming connection feature), I have created the NAT on port TCP 1723 and UDP 1701 in the router. In the server machine there was an apache webserver, listening on 80 and 443, then seems the the VPN services is overlapping the HTTPS 443 port.
