It will give 1 band down, 1 band up, UK 40 (up 64 channels without Alpha ch hops), NZ 40 (down 63 channels) and 10KHZ shift. On a 40 channel radio it will give coverage from 26.335 to 28.005 (including the normal low,mid and high bands of 26.515-27.855), that is a total of 167 channels !

2011年8月7日 · Make sure TR32 and TR25 are in place. If either or both are pulled, you can't adjust VR7, which is the SSB ALC. Give all that a try, and let us know how you get on. ~Cheers~

SSB ALC: Audio signal 30 mV, 1 KHz to microphone.Set radio to CH 20, USB TX mode. Connect wattmeter to ANT output. Set RF Power control fully clockwise.

2013年5月8日 · Before I ask for the service manual for my 79-290, does anyone know if it has the wiring layout for the 4-pin connector of the mic? The 4-pin connector completely disconnected from the wiring, and I don't know what wire goes where to solder it back up.

Adjust the mic gain without the processor until normal alc deviation. Switch the processor on and adjust vr7 near c104 until normal ALC deviation. (do not alter the mic gain at this time)

(ALC control for SSB, AM Carrier Power Control, FM Deviation Control, etc.) In some cases there is no AMC adjustment, but rather a limiting transistor, usually called “TR32,” “Q301,” etc. This part could be removed to boost modulation.
