Vizcaya is open to the public Wednesday through Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m.; last admission is at 4:30 p.m. The Main House is open until 5:00 p.m. and the gardens until 5:30 p.m. Vizcaya is closed on Tuesdays, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Vizcaya is operated by the non-profit Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Trust, Inc. and owned and supported by Miami-Dade County. Additional funding is provided in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.

Vizcaya's collection represents many cultures and periods of art—ancient Roman sculptures, Renaissance tapestries and architectural elements, seventeenth- and eighteenth-century statues and garden decorations, Chinese ceramics, Rococo and Neoclassical furniture and early twentieth-century sculptures and paintings.
