Participants will receive the knowledge needed to understand the context, rationale, and objectives of W&CS for the energy sector. The following four types of training are designed for those providing W&CS for Energy, but also for actors belonging to the energy sector, each with its own purpose and target audience.

The recent publication WMO-No. 258, Guidelines for the education and training of personnel in meteorology and operational hydrology 1 describes the current WMO classification of personnel in meteorology and hydrology, and outlines curricula for the basic qualification and early specialisation of those personnel.
