Wu Yao, Rx. Aucklandiae Mu Xiang and Rx. Cyperi Xiang Fu all promote the movement of Qi. Wu Yao should be used in any disorder of Qi rebellion in which the chest or abdomen is uncomfortable. Mu Xiang is bitter, warming, enters and refreshes an obstructed Spleen and is most appropriate for food accumulation.

The TCM herb "wu yao" which in english is "lindera root", is categorized within the "herbs that regulate the qi" functional grouping. It is thought to enter the kidney, lung, spleen and urinary bladder channels and exhibits acrid and warm (wen) taste/temperature properties.

Gan Cao, moderates spasms and relieves abdominal pain. Moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
