2016年4月24日 · The XMP file will contain the edits that have been done to the file so far, but can't contain suggestions to future edits. You don't have to do anything to associate the XMP file with the image, except making sure that both files are in the same folder. Camera Raw will read the edits automatically.

2024年7月11日 · 1. xmp files are only created when you set the preference to write a copy of all changes into xmp files. This is done in catalog settings->metadata. These files are only backups. The actual settings are written inside the catalog. NOPE! didnt know that!!!!! If there is no xmp, and I lose the cat file, I assume I lose all my edits?

2025年1月18日 · On a DNG file you have the option of having a separate sidecar or writing the XMP data into the DNG file. On a TIF or jpeg opened in Camera Raw, the XMP data with the edits is written into the metadata of the jpeg / tif itself. So re-opening in camera raw does not lose the changes or masks, they were just written into a different place.

2018年11月9日 · It is only downloading the .xmp files of photos you have editid recently, but not the .xmp files which I previously had for all pictures (and edited before i started using Lightroom CC)). I know that you can export your photos in your albums by using 'save to' and than 'original + settings' which gives your the raw files + all the .xmp files.

2019年10月29日 · I edited it in PS CC and saved it. The folder has the raw file and a xmp file for that image in it. However I cannot open the file and get the xmp file recognized and apply the changes. All that opens in PS raw editor is the original uneditted file. I tried draging both files into PS and still get the unedited version of the file to open.
