This gen will be very good once Xbox game studios gets their new IPs out, and it’ll be a better time than ever to play games on either platform with both of their exclusives.

2021年6月25日 · The GDK contains a bunch of new API's, previously only available to Xbox Developer Program members. The original GDK was split into two parts: GDK and GDKX and now the only piece that requires Xbox Developer Access is the GDKX as it contains the Xbox specific APIs. A common theme with these new API's is getting rid of the C++/CLI & WINRT stuff.

2021年1月20日 · Developers had access to the GDK well in advance of getting Series X devkits. Microsoft was supplying Xbox One devkits with it. Sony finalized their SDK in 2019 and finalized their Devkits in early 2020 once final silicon wss being produced, similarly to Xbox. Devs still had to use GMNX on early devkits as GMNX+ required actual silicon.

Gen9 means the software recognizes the hardware of the Xbox Series X|S. Gen9 software is built with the GDK and is able to use all the RDNA2 features on the GPU and unlocks 8 cores, 16 threads on the Zen 2 CPU. Gen9aware means that the software recognizes the Xbox Series X|S GPU as GCN and the CPU is 8 cores, 8 threads.
