2020年8月12日 · Is it worth the upgrade from the XM3, for £120/$200 more (as the XM3 price has dropped). Probably not, when it comes to just sound quality or Active Noise Cancelling. However, I think the XM4 will be more future proof and will receive more updates than the XM3, hopefully with further improvements of the ANC, so in that respect, a great purchase.

2023年7月13日 · I've tried both; I have the XM4 and my brother has the XM3. Sound quality is pretty much the same between them when equalizers are the same and music is the same. Only tangible difference comes in ANC. The XM4 are noticeably better at silencing the outside world, at the cost of an audible hiss which isn't present in the XM3.

2022年5月21日 · The wh-xm3 supports the Aptx bluetooth codec as well as LDAC and AAC, the xm4 doesn't support Aptx. The headband was redesigned, it looks more sturdy on the xm4. The xm4 has multipoint pairing so can be connected to two devices simultaneously. I have used both and didn't notice a difference in sound quality.

2022年5月17日 · The XM4 offers multipoint connecting, the auto pause sensor and the ability to use LDAC and the Sony Headphones app EQ simultaneously. IMO the XM3 sound slightly bassier than the XM4 , but other than that there is not much difference in their sound. If the features mentioned above are things that you would like, choose the XM4.

2020年11月24日 · I own both the xm3's and xm4's. Personally I upgraded for the sound quality. The xm4's have less bass, toned down mid range, and better instrument separation. They are more comfortable listen to for longer periods of time. On the other hand, the xm3's have overloaded bass and an overwhelming mid range. The overall sound is boomier/more impactful.

2021年7月24日 · The XM3 and M50xBT now are my backup power device in case where the XM4 runs out of juice. In conclusion. if you really are a basshead, you should try the Extra Bass Xb900n, those are even more muffled and less clarity than the xm3 but the bass and soundstage gives you a different experience.

2021年2月12日 · Both gives you the exact same audio. Xm4 came with couple of bugs like buzzing sound coming from noise canceling left or right earpiece. But it has more features like auto powering off when u remove them from ur head and auto power on when u put them on for battery save. Xm3 doesn't have that. You can also connect the xm4 with multiple devices ...

2022年6月1日 · I would advise to stay with the xm3. The xm5 have a software issue, where the full anc is only activated if external loudness passes a certain threshold. That is in my estimation quite high, so most of the time you will be stuck on "normal" mode, and here, the xm3 will cancel up to twice as much noise as the xm5. I have used xm3,4,5 in the past.

Clearly you like very clear and nice sound, and unfortunately that's just something you don't get with Sony. I think the Sony sound signature on the xm3 was so terrible compared to my Sennheisers I ended up going with bang and olufsen h9 3rd gen. I can only imagine most other brands having much better sound than Sony, but not better ANC.

2021年9月30日 · XM3's are still there in the market and are going very cheap compared to the initial price. With no clear timeline from Sony for launch of XM4's in India, bought XM3 during amazon sale in Oct-21 for INR 8200/USD 110. Thats a very good price for what they offer. Now in Jan-22, XM4's are listed for INR 20k minus some discount /~USD 250.
