The Y2K fly, also known as the Y2K bug or Y2K worm, is a simple yet highly productive fly pattern that catches fish year-round but excels during the spawning season. Its flashy colors and resemblance to eggs make it an irresistible meal for hungry fish.

This fly is called a Y2K and it’s a super effective, but truly easy fly to tie. The Y2K also happens to be one of the very first flies I tied on here on my YouTube channel 14 years ago—so I figure it’s time for a little update.
