2005年4月21日 · PRR did in fact run Y-6B's. They didn't own them, they did own a piece of N & W. So these were leased engines used when the PRR needed additional horsepower. Since PRR had "sticky fingers" those Y-6B's undoubtedly spent the rest of their lives on PRR, and its subsidiaries, tracks.

2010年2月11日 · Apparently the Y6B had a compound arrangement. The Y3 and Y6b had identical sized cylinders. However, the Y3 had a 270 PSI boiler pressure whereas the Y6 variants had a 300 PSI boiler pressure. As Locobases 67, 5153, and 15921 show, the PRR found its superheavyweight freight hauler answer in the I1 series of 2-10-0s that premiered in 1916. Their boilers were worked hard, but contained much higher percentages of superheater area in their combined heating surface totals and their boilers were pressed a full 90 psi (6.2 bar) higher.
