The field lies in a water depth of 80m, approximately 147km offshore of southern Victoria.

2022年6月22日 · Beach Energy confirmed that it was preparing to further develop the existing Yolla offshore gas field in the Bass Strait to “meet the ongoing demand for natural gas in Australia.” To this end, the firm submitted the EP to NOPSEMA, planning to drill an additional infield well into the existing Yolla field.

The Yolla gas field is located in Bass Strait, approximately 145km south of Kilcunda in Victoria and 135km north of Burnie in Tasmania. Gas and liquids within the Yolla field are extracted from a sandstone reservoir over 3km in depth through four wells via the Yolla ofshore platform which is located in 80 metres of water.
