Peppy was a founding member of the original Star Fox team alongside James McCloud, Fox 's father, and Pigma Dengar. While Fox was a teenager, the team was contracted by General Pepper to investigate planet Venom and potentially take down Andross.

Peppy Hare is a retired member of the legendary Star Fox team. Having had years of service in the Cornerian Military with previous comrade and best friend James McCloud, they both started the Star Fox mercenary team, intent on serving justice and freedom.

At the start of the series, Fox is young and still training under Peppy Hare, his father's friend and wingmate. He becomes an expert pilot, skilled in both air and ground-based attacking, as seen in Star Fox: Assault.

" A long time friend of Fox's father, Peppy Hare is the senior member of the Star Fox Team. An experienced pilot, he has learned many tricks in his years of flying, and is also very knowledgeable about Andross's forces, since he once had to escape captivity at their hands.
