I finished Felghana on January 10th last year, and hadn't been back until this January, where I decided to just check out a let's play of the still-unreleased in the west Ys 5.

Feb 1, 2021 · That doesn't like like Ys VI, at all.. Why specifically use Ys VI if they changed so much of the game? I expected they use the same assets and gameplay, while adding online elements to it. That might be interesting instead of this generic mobile crap.

Nov 4, 2020 · Ys VI was the game that really got me into the series (after literally decades of dabbling). I saw that it was coming to PSP and bought it (as well as Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Gradius Collection) as my “moving to Korea” games back in 2006.

Oct 27, 2024 · Among Falcom's games, Nayuta is a better bet. Also if you want something weird, there is Ys vs Sora no Kiseki. It's basically a fighting game with Ys Seven's combat, but retains jumping like Oath/Origin. I've never really played anything that truly scratched that Oath/Origin itch though, including the more recent Ys games.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana first launched for Switch on April 27, 2023 in Japan, followed by May 25, 2023 in Asia. It is a high-definition remastered version of Ys: The Oath in Felghana.

Dec 25, 2021 · Ys VI is such a downgrade after playing through Oath/Origin, and that sucks because it's full of great stuff and a memorable cast/setting. I'd love to see it somehow get remade using the Oath/Origin engine as a basis, along with improved bosses.

Oct 24, 2018 · It’s much higher than Ys VI, Felghana, Origin, VII or Celceta from what we know but all of those were just PC/PSP or PC/Vita. Higher than any of the Trails games either. It’s impressive given the low Steam figures, which is where the other better selling Ys games did most of their sales (Origin and Felghana over 200k iirc).

Jun 22, 2022 · 1 versus 1 combat is a focus, with huge changes to the party member switching mechanic and weapon attributes. Personally, this seems akin to Ys VI, though it isn't entirely certain yet. Souls-like inspirations are stated, but not overt.
