The lens is fully multi coated using Zeiss’ T* coatings, one of the best available – however since the lens is at a minimum nearly 10 years (Carl Zeiss produced the MM version for Contax from 1985 to 2005), the coatings are not optimized for digital, however flare is virtually non existent.

2023年8月17日 · Colors is typically for Zeiss'es with T* coating. Generally this lens better using for landscapes, street photos. In portrait CZJ MC Pancolar is the best choice when You think about lenses from Germany. Porst 55mm F/1.2 @4 have a comparable sharpness with this lens, but Planar is a bit sharper. First photo @2.8, second @5.6 (the best aperture).

2019年11月30日 · this remains a great lens to be sure. however, it is no longer my favorite zeiss lens in this relative focal length. i have replaced this lens with a zeiss zf "milvus" 85mm f/1.4 lens that i converted to k mount myself. i shoot it on my k1 camera. to my eye, the milvus is a bit better than the above lens, especially when shot at large apertures.
