The zhabten verses are often composed by a senior spiritual figure who is supposed to have obtained the power of speech to make words turn into reality. The following is a zhabten composed by the current Je Khenpo for the long life of His Majesty, the 4th Druk Gyalpo.

This lyrical zhabten is solely for the use of tribute to His Majesty King Jigme Gyser Namgyel Wangchuck.

Tenzhug (བརྟན་བཞུགས་) or Zhabten (ཞབས་བརྟན་) is a type of ceremony to request the Buddha or an enlightened master to live long. It falls within the sixth limb of the seven-part practice.
