The ZIS-110 is a Soviet limousine produced by ZIL from 1946 to 1958. The 110 was developed from the reverse engineering of a 1942 Packard Super Eight [1] during 1944. The first five prototypes were completed by August 1945.

Jan 26, 2016 · This 1947 ZIL ZIS-110 (chassis 253 of 2,038) is an early, second model year example of the Russian reverse-engineered Packard. Commissioned by Stalin, the cars were hand-built at a rate of less than 200 a year, and production ended in 1958.

Feb 19, 2016 · In Russian, “ZIS” was an abbreviation for “plant named after Stalin.” In Khrushchev’s anti Stalin campaign, everything named after Stalin was renamed, so the factory became “Plant named after Likhachov” or ZIL. The interior is incredible. It is worn but still looks like it’s ready to carry another USSR leader.

Oct 14, 2024 · The ZIS ambulance photo was taken on the streets of Moscow in 1960, and the ZIL limousine on the streets of Washington, D.C. in 1969 (hark! a Lark across the street). The ZIL was reputedly produced from 1957 to 1967 and only in two body styles, the limousine and a 4-door convertible.
