The Eye of Argon is a 1970 sword and sorcery fantasy novellette by Jim Theis (1953–2002) that narrates the adventures of the barbarian Grignr.

It's the tale of Grignr, a foul-mouthed barbarian warrior who is trying to escape the dungeons of Evil Overlord Agaphim and rescue a young woman named Carthena from a pagan cult who want to sacrifice her to their idol — a statue with one eye called "The Eye of Argon".

Carthena gaped at the gem gasping in a terrified manner "The eye of Argon, Oh! Kalla!" At this the gem gave off a blinding glow, then dribbled through Grignr's fingers in a slimy red ooze.

Eye of the Gorgon is the second serial of the first series of the British science fiction television series The Sarah Jane Adventures. It first aired in two weekly parts on the CBBC channel on 1 and 8 October 2007. The episode makes references to classical mythology.

The Zorgons are the main antagonists of the book and 2005 film Zathura: A Space Adventure, the second installment in the Jumanji franchise. They are an alien race of reptilian creatures that originated from the mysterious board game "Zathura".
