The Kawasaki ZXR400 is a sport bike introduced by Kawasaki in 1989. It was one of the most popular of the 400 cubic centimetres (24 cu in) sport bikes that swept across Japan and later Europe in the 1990s. It was discontinued in 1999 in worldwide markets but unsold models were imported to the United Kingdom until 2003.

ZXR facts. The ZX400-L appeared officially in the UK for 1991 but the H model had been grey-imported in 1990 (November issue) and available in Japan since '89. In this time (we're now on the L4) little has changed.

2023年12月7日 · Small, light, stumpy, extremely revvy and a fabulous handler, the little ZXR is refined essence of four-cylinder sportster with all the good and bad that implies.

On a fast run out along the leafy lanes of Buckinghamshire (this model came from BladeRunners in Chesham) the ZXR performed like a dream. With power at 59bhp and speed still limited, the ZXR feels best on tight twisting backroads, where it's superb handling can compensate for its relative paucity of power compared to larger ZXR versions.

The ZXR gathers speed to itself in a slightly less histrionic way, winding up quickly but gently, with none of the abrupt manners of its two-stroke stablemate. Despite its love of the upper reaches of the rev range, the motor is very easy to use in real life as well - so long as you are realistic and don't expect it to wheelie in top it is ...

2023年8月21日 · ZXR-400 would be awesome. Kawi missed the mark with the ZX-4R. I was so excited for that bike. It's still really cool, but there are components and design decisions I wish were made different (like the steel frame).
