In this study, we show that Tie-2 is expressed by a rare population of prostate cancer cells that co-express several CSC markers. Compared to the Tie-2 Low population, Tie-2 High prostate cancer cells demonstrate not only enhanced chemoresistance but also an increased ability to adhere to stromal cells such as endothelial cells and osteoblasts.
