I have raced both and raced against both it really comes down to the competition. In rallyx I see EVOs winning most often because of the longer 1st gear over the STI 5 vs 6 speed . Both are pretty good rally cars the EVO has won the most WRC races over the years. I still think the STI looks best unless its an EVO 5 (dem fogs so hot).

A manual WRX is full time 50/50 front/rear AWD. An Evo uses “All Wheel Control” or AWC. Which is different than the “dumb” full time AWD found in a MANUAL WRX. (Automatic WRX use a different system and is more rear biased and not full time 50/50 split)

A short time later later though, I saw a magazine feature comparing an Impreza Type RA vs the Evo V though, and fell in love. Been an Evo guy since. I'll probably never own one, though.

2003年8月11日 · If you have a way to upgrade from regular WRX to EVO, then do it. If you can do that, can you scrape up enough to go on to the STi? The only reason that I would choose a WRX over the EVO disregarding price is that I would prefer a wagon. I find it hard to put the EVO and WRX in the same "class" since it really competes against the STi.

2013年8月7日 · Like others have said, the comparison should really be STI vs. Evo. That being said, I'd take an Evo over a WRX. On the other hand I'd take an STI over and Evo. It all depends on what you want to do with the car and what your goals are for it. Want something that'll go really, really fast without spending a ton of money on mods? Buy the Evo.

2022年9月8日 · These two cars occupied a good bit of my life especially the Evo. For me in this generation of cars the STI was the better daily while the Evo was faster for easier and cheaper. Still have an Evo VIII w/145k miles. Stock block, turbo and trans. Runs like a champ. I wouldn't have nearly as much faith in the EJ25 to take the same beating.
