Liu Bei (Chinese: 劉備; 161-223) was the founder of the Chinese Shu Han dynasty and its first Emperor. He went into battle against the Yellow Turban Rebellion [1] in 184, along with his best friends Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. Later (in 190) he joined Gongsun Zan against the evil Dong Zhuo who had seized the Han emperor Xian.

Liu Bei is the founding emperor of the Shu Han dynasty. Liu Bei is born and raised in Zhuo County, Zhuo Commandery to Liu Hong. As a young man, he studied under the tutelage of the scholar-official Lu Zhi, alongside Gongsun Zan and Tian Yu.
