Dust mite allergens are mainly their excrements and exoskeleton. They thrive off of indoor humidity above 50%. They thrive in your bed (you sweat and breathe, trapping humidity under your covers). They also live in your fabric furniture, carpet and curtains. They like stuffed animals, especially those allowed on the bed.
