For today’s #fossilfriday, we are looking at Pterodactylus antiquus (or pterodactyl for short), the very first pterosaur to be named! Pterodactyl fossils are often found as juveniles and only one adult specimen has ever been found. Adult wingspans were just over 1 meter wide, so they are considered small pterosaurs. Additionally, adults had a crest on the top of their heads that likely was not easily visible until they reached maturity, which explains why there are no visible crests on our juven
