A new counter-terrorism operation against #PKK terrorists in northern Iraq has been launched by turkey and the country's defense minister says it's proceeding "successfully as planned".

The PKK is responsible for the deaths of around 40,000 people and is widely recognized as a terror group. However, few realize that the bulk of the funding for its attacks comes from smuggling narcotics to Europe.
