Begonia Maculata needs a refresh!It is common for stores to use this peat based substrate due to its moisture retention. If you slack off with watering and let it dry out too often, it becomes hard like a brick so you’d have to soak to remove. Coco coir is a better alternative (environmentally sustainable and offers better aeration while retaining moisture) if you want to incorporate it into your plants.
