This is one of the first application techniques we cover in my chalk art workshops and camps for youth and beginners. You’d be surprised how many people forget to use the long side of their chalk. It’s totally fine to use it like a pencil too. This just speeds up the coloring process if you can’t use paint and have a lot of ground to cover. Answering more questions on chalk paint aka tempera paint. Here are the three most common ways we use paint in chalk set ⤵️ 1️⃣ Base layer or primer. Apply paint usually in a square and then add your design and chalk on top. 2️⃣ Color blocking.
