Neither the leaves or “conkers” of the Horse Chestnut are edible, but they do have a fantastic use - to make hand wash and even washing detergent for your clothes! Both the leaves and conkers contain saponins which are basically a mild and natural soap! In this video I show how you can very quickly make “soap” to give your hands a quick wash in the wild, but note with a lengthier process in the kitchen you can make loads of hand wash and/or washing detergent from both the leaves and conkers! | T
