I don’t really like installing vertical siding compared to horizontal siding mainly because it’s slower. You have to trim and flash everything all the way up first, then set yourself up at a height where you can reach the top and bottom of the siding. With 12’ pieces, you end up going up and down for the whole wall. But after the wall is complete, that’s where the satisfaction kicks in. Sometimes siding repairs can be tricky. This is a wall exposed to a lot of sun and is about 20 years old. The homeowner wanted this piece replaced because it has a hole in it. The piece I replaced it with is a partial piece from the same west facing wall on the side of the house with less traffic, but also less sun - so it isn’t as faded.
