Freehand marking of a #honeybee #queen is my preferred method, but it can be challenging if she is moving fast! The paint pen needs to be fresh and have a drop of paint on the end ready to go. It is less stressful for the queen because there is no need to remove her from the comb in order to apply the paint! #beekeeping #honeybees #queenbee
