Why do SFFD Fire Engines and Trucks still have bells? Partly for tradition as before sirens we used bells to alert other horse drawn wagons we needed to get by but more recently it’s a perfect way to warn pedestrians as we pull out of the firehouse or to say “hello” if someone waves to us.
