On October 1, 1979 Coca-Cola’s classic “Hey Kid, Catch!" commercial, starring Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle "Mean" Joe Greene, airs for the first time during ABC's Monday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots. The commercials eventual airing during Super Bowl XIV (a Steelers victory) in 1980 brought it the most attention due to the program's enormous audience. The kid in the commercial is played by Tommy Okon. It w
