Norton Rotary Engine
Crighton CR700W (690cc twin rotary engine). This bike is hand built by Brian Crighton (starter in shot). Brian was the Norton engineer who built and developed the RC588 and RCW588 racing Nortons back in the late 80s and early 90s. This engine makes 220hp at 10,500rpm and 105ft/lbs of peak torque at 9,500rpm. Dry weight of the bike is 129.5kg. 25 of these machines in total will be built and the cost is £126,000 GBP (including VAT). Location is The National Motorcycle Museum's 2022 Museum Live Eve

First start-up after winter on this Norton Rotary Cafe Racer owned by our friend Dave Brown. The starting point for this project was a 1988 Norton Commander with a Norton Wankel Rotary engine. Some other interesting features include a Kawasaki ZX7R front end, Manx Norton tank and Norton F1 tail fin.
