Shushu/Tong closed out Shanghai Fashion Week on Sunday night with a contemporary interpretation of Vincent Minnelli’s 1958 film “Gigi.” Models carried bouquets of folded handkerchiefs, and sometimes had clusters of beads pouring out of their décolletages. The designers draped painterly jacquards into Belle Époque-meets-‘50s-Cecile Beaton frocks, and layered unbuttoned cardigans and shirting under the most fabulouslly prim ballgowns.
