Bees make new queens through a process called "queen rearing," which involves selecting and feeding worker larvae with a special diet called "royal jelly." When the queen bee dies or is no longer able to lay eggs, the worker bees will start to build special queen cells in the hive. These queen cells are larger than regular brood cells and have a different shape to accommodate the growing queen.
