Left atrial appendage (LAA) clot & clot in left atrial is common finding in severe mitral stenosis specially in those patients who have atrial fibrillation,large LA size, spontaneous echo contrast.Clot in left atria is a contraindication to mitral balloon valvotomy.Patient’s having these clots had propensity for thromboembolic episodes .Recently we encounter a patient of critical mitral stenosis of rheumatic aetiology having left atria & appendage full of clot during TEE. #mitral #stenosis #rheu

The Conformal Left Atrial Appendage Seal (CLAAS) device was designed to address the limitations of first-generation left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices by providing an implant that is minimally traumatic, can be deployed in a noncoaxial fashion, and does not require postprocedural oral anticoagulation.
